Volunteering at Cedar Run was one of the best decisions I ever made. In June 2019 I had one year of college under my belt when I reached out to Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge to inquire about potential volunteer opportunities. Mike O’Malley brought me on as a wildlife care volunteer in their Rehabilitation Hospital and from June 2019 - August 2020 I logged approximately 150+ volunteer hours. I have gained the skills and confidence necessary to safely handle non-rabies vector species such as: hawks, owls, vultures, passerines, white-tailed deer, opossums, squirrels, chipmunks, etc.
